I would probably ditch iOS and move entirely to Android if it wasn’t such a liability. It also doesn’t address the problem with apps being suspended. If Apple would allow the import of files within the files app into the Music app on device, this would be solved. I am not sure how it would be possible to use any syncthing app for anything more than a ‘holding cell’ unless it had some extra functionality to make use of some of the stuff. It’s moving the app into being something it’s not. Without it, the device would sleep between music tracks, they’d be no playlists file support etc. For Syncthing to be useful for this purpose, it would need a player built into the app. I use Syncthing on Android to sync and play music / movies. But it presents a massive issue if the iOS system isn’t going to change. Going back to Syncthing for iOS: I would love this. I wonder if anyone have tried compiling syncthing to C compatible ABI and test it from within a thin C (or even Objective-C) wrapper. Anyway, this does seem like a very plausible approach, as opposed to re-implementing the protocol in another language for another platform.
